We are looking for an Associate to join our Private Client team in either Bristol or London.
Working alongside three highly experienced Partners, you will have access to high quality work advising international families and the leaders of the national and international businesses that form our key client base. In addition, you will play an important role in developing our practice through focused business development activities.
You will be joining a successful firm with a collegiate and supportive culture, which makes it a rewarding place to work.
The practice
Our thriving private client practice acts for High-Net-Worth/Ultra-High-Net-Worth clients across the full spectrum of private wealth issues, including:
- UK tax and estate planning: We advise on the establishment of lifetime trusts, particularly using business assets, tax efficient Wills, family investment companies, as well as on charity matters. For our entrepreneurial clients, we advise on a wide range of succession issues, as well as tax efficient business exits.
- International clients: We regularly advise clients on moving to the UK, including on how to structure their affairs to manage the resulting UK tax exposure. We also help them with cross-border estate planning and the establishment of offshore trusts/asset holding structures
- Trust and estate administration: We advise trustees in the UK and offshore on a range of trust law matters. We also act in the administration of high-value UK trusts and estates.
We have an impressive client base of entrepreneurs and international families. In keeping with Osborne Clarke’s reputation for acting for some of the UK’s leading businesses and global corporates, we are regularly called on to assist the owners/CEOs of those businesses with their tax structuring and estate planning.
In addition, we have established a reputation as a ‘go-to’ firm for US related private client matters. Our US offices in Silicon Valley and New York enable us to tap into a significant client base in those regions, particularly those in the technology sector.
Our private client team also has in-depth knowledge of the establishment and management of charities, which is a growing area within the practice.
We act closely with Osborne Clarke’s immigration, corporate, private equity and property teams, enabling us to advise our clients on all aspects of settling and investing in the UK. Our private client team forms part of the firm's Tax Group, giving it the expertise to advise on all forms of UK taxation.
