Osborne Clarke are looking to add to their Change & Transformation team with an exciting new Business Analyst Manager opportunity in our Bristol office.
This role will involve embedding a centre of excellence for Business Analysis across the Change and Transformation team and the Firm as a whole. You will establish best practices, provide quality assurance, and offer coaching and mentoring for the Business Analyst team.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.
The role
The Business Analyst Manager will lead the strategic direction of the Business Analysis team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment, and ensuring the successful execution of business analysis initiatives in alignment with organisational goals.
Other key responsibilities include:
Centre of Excellence: Defining, developing, and embedding a business analysis centre of excellence, providing services across the firm, including associated methodologies and approaches that are fit for purpose for Osborne Clarke.
Line Management: Providing line management for a central team of business analysts, offering pastoral care and professional support and development. The business analysts will be matrix managed by the relevant project and programme manager.
Project Support: Supporting the Head of Portfolio & Delivery and the Head of Change Management in scoping and prioritising new projects and initiatives requests made to Change & Transformation.
Framework and Standards: Working closely with the PMO manager to agree resourcing, set the framework and standards for Business Analysis artefacts.
Quality Assurance: Assisting the Business Analysts to select the appropriate approach for each project, providing quality assurance of documentation, and addressing any quality issues appropriately.
Collaboration: Working closely with the Solutions Architect, Data Architect, Procurement Manager, and Risk & Compliance to ensure that Business Analysts follow the correct procedures and processes within Osborne Clarke.
Project Deliverables: Collaborating with Programme Managers and Change Managers to ensure project and programme deliverables identified by or requested from the Business Analyst team are delivered to the appropriate quality standards.
Community Building: Developing and establishing a community of Business Analysts across the firm, sharing best practice and consistent ways of working.
We are looking for
- An experienced Business Analyst with a recognised Business Analysis qualification.
- Prior experience managing/supporting teams of Business Analysts, building and managing a high-performing team, and creating a sense of community.
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and applications for analysing and capturing requirements and visual representation of process maps, particularly Microsoft Excel, DevOps, and Visio.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to a range of activities and audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative and collegiate approach, with an ability to build effective relationships quickly within the department and across the Firm.
- A full and complete understanding of the end-to-end project life cycle and the associated Business Analysis tools and skillsets.
- A track record in solving problems and driving quality outputs to land continuous improvement/business analysis change.
- Professional curiosity and tenacity to seek out answers and support and challenge the thinking of others.
- A good understanding of change management and programme/project management to ensure a robust understanding of the end-to-end delivery lifecycle.
