Osborne Clarke are seeking an Assistant Partnership Accountant to join our growing Finance department in our Bristol office.
This position will play a crucial role in supporting the Partnership Accountant on all Partner Matters, ensuring alignment with business initiatives and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working, with the opportunity for study support with accountancy exams.
The role
The Assistant Partnership Accountant will be a key member of the Financial Accounting team, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. This role will involve managing various aspects of the Members Balance Sheet accounts, preparing financial reports, and liaising with key internal stakeholders and external partners.
Other key responsibilities include:
Financial Management:
- Liaising with banks in relation to members capital arrangements and maintaining Capital Accounts schedules.
- Managing various aspects of the Members Balance Sheet accounts including profit share, tax reserves, and current accounts.
- Preparation of monthly drawings and distribution schedules in line with profit sharing arrangements.
- Posting journals and ensuring partners benefits deductions are posted to the current accounts on a timely basis.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Providing partner related information as required by the business, firm's auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
- Assisting in providing annual statements to members and maintaining the profit share model.
- Assisting with the partner remuneration process and providing partner remuneration data for joiners/leavers.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintaining proper documentation for all members accounts as required.
- Supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary data and reconciliations related to Members Accounts.
- Actively operating in the best interests of the firm at all times internally and externally.
Process Improvement:
- Assisting in the redesign of processes and procedures and documenting them.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Working closely with the Financial Accounting Team for the Year-end Audit and other teams on payments to partners, capital receipts and payments, tax payments, and reporting.
We are looking for
- A fully or part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Partnership Tax Accounting experience.
- Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Problem-solving abilities, particularly related to complex reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
