Our IT team have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as an IT Operations Engineer. The successful candidate will provide 3rd line level support of OC's global Data and Voice Network Infrastructure, Servers and Systems, whilst playing a key role in the ongoing Azure migration plan for some of Osborne Clarke's services to the cloud.
This is a permanent position based out of our Bristol office, with some home working too.
What you'll do
You will provide a comprehensive level of support to the global business for Osborne Clarke's virtual infrastructure, networking components and key services such as Unified communications and email.
Key duties will also include:
- Supporting, operating and managing the delivery of the operational platforms, hardware, operating systems and core technologies, including provision, documentation, maintenance etc.
- Maintaining and developing the integrity and security of all components comprising various client's network and operational platforms, including all data
- Working in collaboration with suppliers and other IT teams to ensure the smooth delivery of such products to the firm
- Testing, implementing and supporting any internally or externally developed applications as assigned
- Awareness of advances in technology, new software applications and new hardware in order to serve as an advisor to other employees
You will be
We are looking for someone who is used to working in a demanding Operations team with a high level of personal responsibility. We'll expect you to have good knowledge of cloud and virtualisation technologies, networking principles and Windows server architecture and services. Alongside this, a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and the Azure platform will also be needed. Further technical requirements can be found below:
Technical requirements:
- Azure framework, IaaS, SaaS and security products.
- Applying AI, General Scripting, Powershell
- Azure networking, Express Route, Load Balancers
- Zscaler ZPA and ZIA, Client Connector, Zero Trust Security
- Managing suppliers in WAN/LAN data communications, VPN Management, SD-WAN and MPLS
- Working knowledge of networking standards, hardware, protocols
- Network monitoring and management systems, ideally Solarwinds
- Unified Communications ideally Teams
- Extreme Switch/Stack, Fabric/Cluster, WiFi cloud & hardware experience is beneficial
- Security Solutions such as Checkpoint and Azure firewalls
- Server and PC operating systems, including Windows 10 & 11, Windows 2016/2019/2022 Server, basic Linux
- Microsoft SQL Server, setup, licensing and Azure SQL management
- ESXi / VMware 8 and later with vSphere experience is beneficial
- Microsoft Exchange 2019 hybrid with Exchange Online
- Entra ID and Office 365 with E5 licensing
- ITIL or IT Service Management experienced
