We have an
exciting new opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our IP Disputes team in
London to focus on our Patents Disputes practice, particularly within the life
sciences sector.
The practice
Our IP
Disputes team is known for acting in high profile, high value IP litigation
with an international element, as well as handling portfolio management matters
for internationally recognised brands. We are currently acting in litigation in
the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Unified Patent Court (UPC)
on a range of matters encompassing patents, designs, copyright, passing off,
and trade mark infringement.
In patents
disputes, we regularly act for leading companies in the life sciences,
telecommunications and digital business sectors. Our sector-focussed approach
ensures that we have valuable expertise in the areas in which our clients
operate and deep understanding of the issues that they face.
The role will
mainly be working with Will James, Tim Harris, and Trevor Crosse, who
specialise in complex pharmaceutical and biotech patent disputes. All three
recognised in the key legal and IP directories.
The team
The London IP
Disputes team is led by Arty Rajendra and is currently made up of 9 Partners, 3
Associate Directors, 4 Senior Associates, 5 Associates, 2 Trainee Solicitors, 5
Paralegals.
Technical
skills and experience
This role will
work primarily with Will James, Tim Harris, and Trevor Crosse on pharma and
biotech patent matters. Knowledge and experience of UK patent litigation gained
at a firm with a strong reputation in this area is essential, and
studies/qualifications in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, immunology or
similar fields would be highly beneficial.
We are looking
for a Senior Associate who understands the process of taking a patent action
from initial instructions all the way through to trial, and who will drive
matters forward and lead more junior members of the team.
