This new role will be central to how we track, maintain and optimise the firm’s hardware and software estate, ensuring our technology assets are reliable, secure and delivering value for money across the business.
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) based in our Bristol office.
The role
The IT Asset Management Lead will oversee the full lifecycle of our IT assets – from deployment and inventory management, through to maintenance, decommissioning and disposal – ensuring they are effectively tracked, utilised and compliant with relevant policies and regulations.
You will work closely with colleagues across IT Support, Procurement, Finance, Risk & Compliance and external vendors to develop and govern asset management standards, provide clear management information and support informed decision‑making around technology spend and strategy.
Other key responsibilities include:
Asset Strategy & Lifecycle Management

- Manage the deployment and installation of new hardware and software assets, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales and specifications.
- Develop and implement strategies to extend asset lifecycles where appropriate, eliminating redundancies, unused assets and unnecessary maintenance costs.
- Develop and implement asset management policies and procedures and ensure they are clearly communicated and adhered to by all relevant stakeholders.
Inventory, CMDB & Reporting
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including management of the stock audit cycle at each UK site.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and act as CMDB Practice Owner within the ITIL framework.
- Leverage technology to create dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs, identify trends and recommend improvements to asset management practices.
- Collate management information and produce regular reports on asset status, utilisation and costs for stakeholders across the business.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with the Finance Team to manage asset-related budgets and forecasts.
- Support the ongoing creation and management of technology budgets, working with IT Heads, Procurement and Finance teams.
- Monitor spend against budget and provide regular updates on financial performance.
- Work with the Procurement Team to manage vendor relationships, ensuring service levels are met and issues are resolved promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of vendor licensing models and identify and report any compliance risks.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all hardware, software and virtual assets are secure and comply with Information Security policies and best practice.
- Implement measures to protect assets from theft, loss or unauthorised access.
- Maintain a heightened awareness of the risks associated with elevated access permissions and ensure all activities are undertaken in line with the firm’s Information Security Policy.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Promote effective communication and a culture of mutual understanding across Business Services and the wider firm.
- Contribute to the continuous review and improvement of IT and business processes, sharing best practice and supporting colleagues with diverse DEI and accessibility needs.
We are looking for
- Proven experience in IT asset management or a similar role within a corporate or professional environment.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management, from procurement through to disposal.
- Excellent organisational and record‑keeping skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, build dashboards and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement and inventory management tools, and confident use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A strong customer service ethic and commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of service to internal stakeholders.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to build relationships and influence across IT, Finance, Procurement and other business teams.
- Awareness of Information Security best practice and ITIL principles; prior experience with ServiceNow and ITIL frameworks is desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft E5 and mobile device management is a plus.
- A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
