Our Business Support Team has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join their team on a 6 month fixed term contract. This role is based in our central Bristol office owing to the nature of the role and the service provided to the firm.
You'll play a key role as part of the team in providing high-level administrative support across our 3 UK offices. Working closely with colleagues across Osborne Clarke, you will be building strong internal relationships while using your excellent IT skills, attention to detail and calm, organised approach to help us deliver a first-class service to our lawyers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide centrally based cover for our legal teams
- Provide effective high level administrative support to the legal teams and business services
- Knowledgeable of working practices within each Practice Group
- Deal with enquiries from colleagues and provide effective transfer of information
- Audio/copy typing
- Amend and format legal documentation and initiate/compose direct correspondence
- Understand and apply house style effectively to an expert level of proficiency
- Provide Billing and credit control procedures for lawyers and clients
- Supports the production of Business Development and marketing documents
- Involvement in ad-hoc projects as given by the Business Support Manager
- Work to continuously develop effective ways of working within the team and to identify ways of improving working practices
We are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary or someone who has worked in a similar role. You'll be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to build an internal network across OC offices, departments and teams.
Other key skills required to be successful in this role include:
- Experience of digital dictation and audio typing
- Ability to touch type
- Experience of being able to work with a workflow management tool
- Ability to work under pressure with little supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Calm and collected manner to instil confidence in clients and colleagues
- Essential to be organised and be able to prioritise work
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Workshare, PowerPoint, Interaction etc)
