After a long period of sustained growth, Osborne Clarke are looking to significantly invest in our Communications and Brand team which has led to the creation of a Content Manager role to be based in our Bristol or London office.
This leadership role will be pivotal in defining and delivering our firm-wide content strategy, ensuring a consistent, engaging brand voice across social, video, podcast, intranet and other communication channels.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.
The role
The Content Manager will be a key member of our PR and communications function, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. You will lead a multi-disciplinary content team and work closely with brand, marketing and events to plan, create and govern compelling content that supports the firm’s priorities.
Other key responsibilities include:
Content Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development of our content strategy aligned to firm priorities, with line management of the content team Senior Social Communications Executive, Content Production Executive, Digital Communications Executive and Senior Content Executive).
- Define content goals, target audiences and communication strategies; prioritise competing demands to ensure timely delivery.
- Establish and manage editorial calendars and the content pipeline from planning through to publication.
Editorial & Production
- Evaluate proposed content for suitability across channels and formats; provide clear, constructive feedback and best practice guidance.
- Edit content for clarity, coherence, grammar, punctuation, style and accuracy, ensuring adherence to our brand voice and style guide.
- Oversee layout, design and visual aesthetics in collaboration with the brand team.
- Copy edit and proofread marketing materials, external messaging, internal communications and client-focused projects to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Insights, Research & Continuous Improvement
- Create and roll out a strong programme of measurement and optimisation for content across all channels, producing regular reports and data analysis
- Analyse content performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve engagement.
- Conduct high-level content research and competitive analysis to inform content planning.
- Stay current with industry trends, audience preferences and advancements in digital technology that impact content creation and distribution.
Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with the wider PR and communications team, brand, marketing and events to develop and refine content for internal and external audiences .
- Promote effective communication and a culture of mutual understanding across the business, contributing to process improvement and best practice.
- Work closely with Marketing and Business Development colleagues to shape, establish and manage adaptable content strategies and frameworks that support their commercial objectives
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing to continuously shape, test and evolve our digital marketing approaches
We are looking for
- Proven experience in copywriting, content strategy, editing and proofreading across multi-channel environments.
- Strong team leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing content teams.
- Demonstrable expertise in creative content management and execution, combining technical know-how with creative flair and a passion for innovation.
- Solid understanding of content design, digital user experiences, search engine optimisation, web standards and paid social campaigns.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Highly organised, with strong time and project management skills; comfortable reviewing large volumes of copy under deadline and prioritising effectively.
- Strong analytical, fact-checking and proofreading skills, with a commercial mindset and business maturity.
- Competent user of CMS tools such as WordPress, and experience writing engaging content about technical topics for non-technical audiences.
- A hands-on user of content publishing and analytics platforms such as Drupal, Sprout Social, GA4, Siteimprove and Semrush
