Osborne Clarke are investing significantly in our Communications and Brand team which has led to the creation of a Senior Internal Communications Executive role to be based in either our Bristol or London office.
This role will promote and protect the firm’s reputation, enhance employee engagement and nurture OC’s culture through clear, timely and effective enterprise communications across the firm.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.
The role
The Senior Internal Communications Executive will be a key member of our Communications function, supporting an annual enterprise communications plan aligned to business objectives. You will plan, write and deliver impactful communications for fee-earners and Business Services colleagues, partnering closely with HR, Marketing and Business Development to drive engagement and a culture of mutual understanding.
Other key responsibilities include:
Internal Communications Planning & Execution
- Support the development and delivery of the annual internal communications plan aligned to firm priorities; prioritise competing demands to ensure timely delivery.
- Write and edit announcements, messages and intranet content tailored to fee-earners and Business Services audiences, ensuring clarity, coherence and accuracy.
- Contribute to the firm’s narrative and positioning as an employer of choice, reflecting our employee experience and OC culture.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advice
- Provide trusted advice on firm-wide matters, employee experience, responsible business, well-being and change communications.
- Partner with HR colleagues and senior stakeholders to shape communications that inform, inspire and engage.
- Apply a 360° approach to communications, considering non-internal stakeholders (e.g. media, clients) where appropriate.
Insights, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Design effective internal communications reporting and analysis for senior stakeholders; distil insights and recommend improvements.
- Document, assess and improve internal communications processes; contribute to continuous review and best practice.
- Stay current with social media trends and the role of digital platforms in corporate communications; explore AI capabilities and be willing to learn.
Collaboration & Governance
- Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development functions to align internal messaging with commercial priorities.
- Promote effective communication and a culture of mutual understanding across the business.
- Support issues management and change management communications, exercising sound judgment and discretion.

We are looking for
- Good capabilities in employee communications and engagement, with experience in a legal or professional services environment.
- Experience in internal communications, issues management and change management, with strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a proven track record of implementing internal communications campaigns.
- Highly organised, with strong planning and project management; comfortable juggling competing priorities and working to tight deadlines.
- Keen understanding of the role of social media in corporate communications; personal and professional experience with social platforms.
- Familiarity with AI and a willingness to learn.
- Professional poise, good judgment, discretion and personal integrity; able to handle sensitive information with care.
- Self-starter, proactive and resilient; able to work in change/ambiguity and under pressure.
- Demonstrated interest in news, digital and social, with commercial maturity and a collaborative mindset.
- Reachable/available outside of regular working hours in the event of urgent matters.
