We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Trainer to join our IT department. As a member of the IT Training team, you will play a key role in helping to drive the adoption of technology across the business, contributing to the firm's efficiency and the delivery of exceptional legal and support services.
This is a permanent position, based out of our London office, with some home working too.
The Role
In this role you will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of IT induction training for our UK and international new joiners. You will also run group training courses and one to one coaching sessions on a wide range of IT applications and hardware. In addition, you will help to develop and deliver IT training solutions for any business change projects which require efficient and effective use of IT systems in order to be successful.
Training is currently delivered either face to face or online via Teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Training Delivery & Support
- Delivery of IT induction training for our UK and international new joiners.You will play a key role in welcoming our new joiners to the firm and ensuring that they have the necessary IT knowledge and skills to perform efficiently and effectively in their role
- Delivery of group training courses and one to one coaching sessions on a wide range of IT applications and hardware.The aim of all training interventions is to enhance our people's use of technology in a measurable fashion and in line with the company's IT proficiency framework.
- Help develop and deliver IT training solutions for business change projects
- Assist the IT Training Manager in identifying training needs on an individual and group basis
- Prepare fully prior to all training or coaching sessions, addressing all requirements in advance
- Work with the IT training co-ordinator to ensure each training initiative is run efficiently and effectively
- Work with the ITS ServiceDesk to answer queries on the use of MS Office and other legal IT applications
- Answer ad hoc training queries sent directly to the IT Training team
Content Development & Maintenance
- Assist with the creation of digital learning materials in the form of online videos, e-learning courses, intranet pages and knowledge articles
- Work alongside other members of the IT Training team to maintain existing courses and training materials in line with technical upgrades
Continuous Improvement, Evaluation & Governance
- Carry out effective evaluation and validation of each training initiative and individual session for the purpose of management reports
- Stay updated in advances in technology and training and integrate these into the ongoing creation and delivery of training materials
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the IT Training function. Implement changes to enhance efficiency and improve service quality
- Be aware of the risks associated with elevated access permissions and Information Security and ensure that your actions are undertaken in line with the Information Security Policy and current best practice.
We are looking for
A qualified and experienced IT Trainer, passionate about delivering quality training, with a background in professional services. You will also have experience in designing and developing digital learning solutions and providing IT services within an accredited service environment such as ITIL or similar.
Key knowledge and skills:
- Confident in delivering training online as well as face-to-face
- Excellent IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Word, with sound knowledge of the other Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of legal IT systems; including document management systems, client relationship management tools and time recording software
- Experience of the IT Training project life cycle, including training needs analysis, and instructional design
- Skilled in the design and delivery of digital learning solutions
- Technical authoring experience
- Ability to work autonomously when required and to schedule your own resource appropriately
- Capable of multitasking, working under pressure and working to tight deadlines
- Creative thinker who is able to, and enjoys solving problems for users
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and applications
- Committed to delivering an exceptional standard of service to users
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- A strong team player, committed to assisting colleagues wherever necessary to maximise the effectiveness of the entire ITS department
