"Osborne Clarke was an absolute pleasure to deal with, open, accessible and gave us a wealth of advice." – Chambers & Partners 2024
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer to join our Competition team in London. Osborne Clarke has a growing competition litigation practice and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting this growth, working at the intersection of competition and litigation on a range of matters including regulatory enforcement, standalone competition litigation and competition law complaints. We are looking for someone to join us at Senior Associate or Associate Director level, depending on level of experience.
We encourage each member of the team to build client relationships from the outset with a structured career path, goals and objectives at every level. You will be joining a successful firm with a collegiate and supportive culture, which makes it a rewarding place to work.
The practice
Our expert competition law team serves clients in the capital, across the UK and internationally. The practice is comprehensive, handling both contentious and non-contentious matters across the firm’s priority sectors, with a particular emphasis on tech, retail and life sciences. The team advises on a wide range of competition law matters, including merger control, competition compliance, investigations, competition litigation and subsidy control.
The team is routinely at the forefront of new developments in competition law and digitalisation. We are currently advising a number of high profile clients on shaping the new digital markets regulations, including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act in the UK.

The team are based across our London and Bristol offices, and work closely together.
What we are looking for
We are seeking qualified lawyers who can demonstrate in-depth experience across at least one of the areas mentioned above, with a particular focus on enforcement and/or litigation matters.
As well as excellent technical ability, our team prides itself on the commerciality of their advice to clients, and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate in this manner, and proactivity to keep abreast of matters that are important to our clients.
As a guide, due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, we are looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Associate Director in this area, although we will consider candidates with more or less experience.
Your career development
Like all our lawyers, you will benefit from our multi-award winning career development programme. At each stage of your career this provides you with:
- clear expectations of your role and what it takes to progress both on a firm wide basis and specifically within the team;
- high quality clients and work, with early responsibility and client exposure;
- thorough assessment and individual feedback from a range of experienced colleagues;
- robust technical training with early skills based development, increasingly tailored to you; and
- reward for your contribution, progression and potential, rather than PQE or tenure.
